Vintage Mod 1970 Barbie CAFE TODAY #4983 Structure with Original Box!
I'm not sure if this was ever put together, but it was taken out of the box because one of the little rivet, wall anchor type things meant to hold things together is missing. I also see Cafe Today photographed with an plastic orange wall phone. This Cafe has a phone designed on the vinyl wall. There's no place to attach a separate phone. There is also no separate soda box or cooler like I have seen in other photos of the Cafe. Perhaps there are 2 versions of this structure.
Includes the following: one assembled end table. 2 unassembled chairs, one unassembled table. One "cash" register. 11 "rivets", 6 "plates" of food, one Cafe Today "sign", one orange plastic "roof" with handle, 2 orange plastic wall connectors, the Rock, Soul, Love "counter", the "wall" that has the plastic "jukebox" graphic, "wall phone" graphic, "blender" graphic and LOVE sign art panel,which is loose from the cardboard as well as the other plastic panel, which is the exterior of the "shop". It has a small brownish mark towards the top. This mark can be seen in the photo. The glue has dried out and interior of the cafe panel is detached, the other panel is loose around around one side. There is also a crack, about 1/2 inch at the top of the jukebox panel. The "wall" which the plastic panel shows the stove, a bowl of oranges, a soda machine, etc, is loose but not completely detached. The other side of this panel is the same, loose but not detached. This also shows some warping of the plastic, probably from being stored in a hot attic. This can be seen in the photos. No assembly instructions or list of contents.
This was preowned, so there are small signs of wear, little random marks here and there, but overall this is bright, clean and very colorful. The box is also quite nice. Some age discoloration and damage which can be seen in the photo where it was opened. It's also missing a small piece of the graphics, which can be seen in the photo.
