VINTAGE 24" Calf Skin BASS DRUM HEAD!

No manufacturer name on this head. It came off of Vespe 24" bass drum I bought from a local collector. There isn't much information to be had on Vespe but from what I could gather from the knowledgeable and reputable seller was that he (Vespe) was buying unmarked Gretsch shells and outfitting with his badge and hardware. The shell definitely has all the characteristics of a 1940's-50's Gretsch.
There were calf skin heads on both sides. I still have the original batter which I moved to the reso side. The tone that comes off of these old heads are incredible! I estimate this head to be from the 40's, possibly early 50's. It doesn't really have any separation from the wood hoop and is only about 1/2" out of round in one area.  It is in great shape, despite the water staining and the few tiny pinholes.
