Deluxe Reading Dream Kitchen Inventory List
As far as I can tell, Deluxe Reading never published a list of the 176 items. They went out of business in 1973.
In order to come up with an item count I have reviewed dozens and dozens of pictures of the Deluxe Reading Dream Kitchen listings and the listings themselves over the past 9 years. I have studied the instruction sheet and what was described as pieces and also the illustrations (as the instructions stated: The complete kitchen consists of all the parts and accessories illustrated in Fig. 1). I also used pictures that I was able to find of the dishes and food as they originally came in the box - still attached all together by plastic and the flattened boxes of food and cleaning products.
I received my first Deluxe Reading Dream Kitchen for Christmas 1962 and I remember being so excited to set it up. It was hard to assemble the boxes but easy to take apart the dishes! Barbie was pretty happy also.
