    Description

Metallic Powder Reflections Pigments composed of mica nano- particles coated with various organic and inorganic pigments to create pearlescent and iridescent effects. These unique pigments are designed to be premix with a 100% solids no VOC clear epoxy binder. When the metallic particles are mixed with epoxy they give the coating a shine that reflects light and creates and eye catching dramatic color. For the most vivid color and dynamic effects we recommend 4 oz of pigment for every gallon of epoxy. Example, a 3 gallon of epoxy would require a total of 12 oz of metallic powder pigment. Mix powder with resin first before adding hardener, Be sure add additional pigment to account for the gallon of hardener. Always apply backdrop color first, using one of our 12 colored epoxy kits prior before starting metallic process. Coverage rate for primer and back drop color is 275 Sq.Ft per gallon. Coverage rate for metallic application over cured back drop is approximately 65-70 Sq.Ft per gallon using a magic trowel. The goal is to show 12 % of the back drop estimated 65-70 Sq.Ft per gallon. The more of the back drop exposed will increase the metallic coverage rate. This is a very easy system to install you will save a lot of money DIY! Average cost of a metallic floor is ONLY .50-.75 SF complete. For weary first time installers We recommend a doing a test mock up on a pre-sanded piece of plywood prior to actual application. Home depot sells pre-cut 24" x 24" boards for around .99 ea. You can purchase our epoxies in as little as 3 quart increments with any of your favorite pigment colors.
When powder is dispersed into colored epoxies resins, pigments will create the illusion of natural formations, swirls, waves, and ripple effects. During the next 5-6 hours after initial installation metallics will naturally flow through our resins creating there own unique artistic finish.
Always apply metallics with a magic trowel, over a "Solid Back Drop Color" for best 3D color effect. Colored Epoxies offers 12 standard colors for back drop colors.
Always apply two applications. 1st application as the primer 2nd as the finished back drop. No additional primer needed, use colored epoxies as the primer and finish colored or clear. Our epoxies are designed to adhere to each other. No in-between sanding needed. Step by step instructions can be printed directly off manufactures website.
