    Plantation 1996:
Keen rum drinkers are probably well versed at this point in at least a few of the big Jamaican distilleries. Appleton Estate, Worthy Park, and Hampden… with one other historic distillery that has often flown under the radar: Long Pond.
Long Pond having come under partial new ownership of Maison Ferrand, the Cognac house perhaps best known to many as the folks behind Plantation Rum. This means that Plantation got their hands on some of the most well-aged stocks of Jamaican pot still rum anywhere. Prior to this Plantation had released a 22-year-old Long Pond rum, bottled without additives at cask strength. The Jamaica 1996 was a blend of ultra old rum, just slightly reduced to 49.1% abv, and aged two years further for a total of 24 years; 6 months and also bottled without any added sugar.
    AND
Foursquare Exceptional Cask Mark XV "Redoutable" 14 Year Rum:
For the 15th release in their Exceptional Cask Series, a cask strength, 14 year old heavyweight aged in both bourbon and Madeira casks. Redoutable was aged in hot and humid Barbados for 14 years.
